Corkscrew Pass – Book your jeep tour!
Corkscrew Pass (Corkscrew Gulch) is an increasingly popular, beautiful high mountain 4×4 trail that begins at the entrance of Ironton, a well-preserved Colorado ghost town. Once a wagon trail, the pass was built by Otto Mears in the late 1800’s as a way to access mining claims. This area served the Guston turntable and railroad that linked Silverton and the Red Mountain Mining District. The Corkscrew Pass itinerary features some of the most uniquely colored geology and expansive summit views in the San Juan Mountains.
