Liability: You are responsible for all liability, damage and/or loss to the Jeep that occurs during your rental period. This includes, but is not limited to, damage caused by impact from rockfall, hail, and mud slides. You are also responsible for collision with other vehicles, snow banks, overhanging trees, brush, large rocks, theft of the vehicle, loss of use, diminished value of the vehicle caused by this damage. If you have questions, please ask prior to departure.
Jeep Washing and Fueling: Due to the dust and mud normally collected out on the trails, you are required to thoroughly spray the exterior and undercarriage off prior to returning it. A sprayoff carwash is available in Ouray. Additionally, please remove trash and personal items from Jeep upon return. Fuel tank mst be full.
Pets: A Pet fee of $25 will be applied to the reservation. Up to 2 small, or one medium sized dog will be allowed. 4 door units are recommended for pets. Jeep seats and interior must be fully protected with covers, blankets, etc. You may be charged for an extra cleaning if fur and mud are present inside the Jeep. Please notify us at the time of reservation that you are traveling with your pet(s).
Cell Reception: There is very little reception on the trails. Handheld radios are encouraged when traveling with others. Don’t hesitate to ask others on the trail for assistance as we have found that most folks are happy to help!
Stay ON the Trails: Tread lightly, leaving no trace behind. This means staying on the trails, and packing out your trash. Most wildflowers are protected, so don’t trample on or pick them.
Mileage: There is no mileage limit, however, we encourage our customers to take their time enjoying each trail for its unique history and characteristics, which means our staff is available to help you plan a safe and relaxing route. Jeeps must stay within the San Juan Mountains (Ouray, Silverton, Telluride, Lake City) areas unless prior arrangements have been made.
Rental Duration: The rental period is from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. However, you may pick up your Jeep rental the evening before between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM so you can enjoy an early start and a leisurely day of sight-seeing. Multiple day rentals do not need to be returned until 5:00 pm on the last day of the rental. Airport pick-up is available through Western Slope Rides.
