One of our favorite ways to see the San Juan Mountains is with an all-day or half-day guided scenic tour. Each tour begins in Ouray Colorado and quickly climbs into the majestic landscapes of Yankee Boy, Imogene Pass, Black Bear Pass, Engineer Pass, Corkscrew and many more. Whether you are looking for breath-taking mountain vistas, ghost towns, rugged alpine terrain, thundering waterfalls or fields of colorful alpine wildflowers, Colorado Jeep tours will get you there and Switzerland of America will suit your taste.

Switzerland of America’s specialty is to share Ouray’s unique mining heritage and history with our guests, providing Colorado Jeep tours and Jeep rentals for visitors seeking high mountain adventure. You’ll learn history of the areas’ silver and gold mining, see ghost towns and mining structures, and find out about many of the Rocky Mountain wildflowers and wildlife. We make frequent stops for photos and rock collecting. The best part is you can sit back and enjoy the ride. Our skilled guides have over 100 years of combined guiding experience and are dedicated to helping our guests enjoy the best guided 4×4 Scenic Tour available. All our guides are CPR and first aid certified. Rain ponchos and warm blankets are on board our vehicles for your comfort.Our modern and well-maintained tour vehicles include specially modified open-air Dodge Chassis’ and Jeep Wranglers and are inspected by the Public Utilities Commission of Colorado for safety and maintenance.

Switzerland of America operates under USFS and BLM permits.

Your Jeep tour starts here

All day scenic Jeep tours depart at 8:00 A.M. and return at 5:00 P.M.
Half day tours depart at 8:00 AM in July and August, and 8:30 AM during May, June, September and October unless otherwise specified.
Half day tours are also generally available daily at 1:30 PM
Children ages 4 through 12 receive reduced ticket prices and Children under 4 are free.
We can pickup and drop off at designated locations within Ouray town limits with prior arrangements.
AAA and senior (65+) discounts apply.
In most cases, we do require a minimum of 4 guests to complete an itinerary.
