Ophir Imogene Pass Tour – An old favorite!
Trip Details & Logistics
Depart from Ouray, Colorado. Climb through the ruins of the Upper Camp Bird to the renowned 13,000 ft summit of Imogene Pass. Descend into Telluride through the ghost town of the Tomboy Mine for lunch. In the afternoon, explore the Alta Lakes ghost town amidst groves of Aspen and Spruce. Return via Ophir Pass, winding up the narrow and rugged Ophir toll road. This trip can be a good choice for wildlife watching as both deer, sheep, beaver and sometimes moose are spotted on this trail. This is also a wonderful all-day experience for the traveler looking for a thorough introduction to the history, geography and landscape of the area, without committing to the more extreme experience of Black Bear Pass.
Due to limited driver availbility for the 2024 season this tour will be by request only as this tour is not as popular as the Imogene Pass Tour. Thank you for your understanding. A minimum of four passengers is required for the this tour to operate.

“We didn’t know anything about Ophir Pass and the areas on the other side of the mountain. Alta Lakes was also a treat… thoroughly enjoyed our trip”
